HISTORY

The BC Wide ATC exhibit held at the Sunshine Coast Art Center July 8 through August 10, ended with an extremely busy trading session August 10. The exhibit itself consisted of 2 sheets of 9 cards each, by 58 artists from Sechelt, Roberts Creek, Gibsons, Vancouver, Victoria, Royston, Cobble Hill, Qualicum, Bowser, Courtenay, Merville, Halfmoon Bay, Kelowna, Surrey, Parksville, Powell River, and Westbank, BC.

There were many enthusiastic comments in the Gallery's visitors' book, and many curious onlookers at the trading session on Sunday, when gallery visitors were greatly increased by our annual Craft Fair taking place in the park kitty-corner to the gallery. A number of these visitors asked to be informed about our next trading session.

The sixteen-page catalogue reproduces, in full colour, one card from each artist, along with their names and contact information. On the opening pages, there is a brief explanation of the exhibit and a short history of ATC's which emphasizes the importance of the trading concept and names originator, Stirnemann and primary North-American instigator, Chuck Stake. On the last page, the coordinators of the six regional trading sessions are acknowledged.

To cover costs, the catalogue sold for $8 to participants, $12 to the public.
It's available from the Sunshine Coast Arts Center, PO Box 1565, Sechelt, BC, Canada V0N 3A0.
